The Honourable Jigjidsuren Chinburen, Minister of Health of Mongolia, received Ambassador Giovanna Piccarreta on 24 June.
During the meeting, topics of particular interest to both countries were discussed, such as non-communicable diseases, including cancer, also linked to air pollution. Italy took the opportunity to share some thoughts on the role of diet in non-communicable diseases, also in view of the high-level event on the subject to be held in New York on 25 September. The Italian Ambassador also mentioned the commitment of the Italian private sector, in particular the cashmere industry, to protecting health and sustainability, citing an initiative by Falconeri/Calzedonia in this area in the eastern regions of Mongolia.
