The Deputy Prime Minister responsible, among other things, of the supervision of emergency management, received yesterday Ambassador Giovanna Piccarreta, accompanied by the representatives of the Civil Protection and of the Cima Research Foundation, dr. Goretti and dr. Rudari. The meeting represented a key moment to deepen bilateral cooperation and consolidate the partnership between Italy and Mongolia on strategic issues, in particular:
✅ Inclusion of resilient infrastructures and the prevention and management of disasters as one of the potential pillars of cooperation between the two Countries;
✅ Recognition of the Italian model as a reference for the development of the Civil Protection System internationally;
✅ Sharing the complementarity of the two economic systems, notably in the sectors of sustainable cashmere (of which Italy is the second major importer), agri-food, machinery, green transition, advanced industry and collaboration in strategic areas.
🇮🇹🤝🇲🇳 Both Italy and Mongolia have agreed on the importance of a prompt start of the direct flight between the two Countries, as a “game changer” in bilateral relations.
The meeting confirmed the strong political will to intensify dialogue and further consolidate collaboration also in the cultural, academic and scientific fields, in the framework of the celebration of the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations. Political consultations, as well as the meeting of the technical and economic intergovernmental committee, were held in March 2025, on the occasion of the visit to Mongolia of the Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ms Maria Tripodi, providing further impulse to the partnership between Italy and Mongolia.
