Dr. Undram, MP, Minister of Culture, Sport, Tourism and Youth, received Ambassador Giovanna Piccarreta, to carry forward the fruitful collaboration between the two Countries in the cultural sphere.
Italy and Mongolia reaffirmed their commitment to pursue various joint initiatives, as well as launching further collaborations in the field of tourism, sport and youth.
Focus of the discussion was the project of an exhibition dedicated to Zanabazar –a prominent figure in Mongolian history and art – to mark the 390th° anniversary of his birth.
Mongolia’s participation in the upcoming Venice Art Biennale was also among the main topics, following the historic visit to Ulaanbaatar by the President of Venice Biennale, Mr. Pietrangelo Buttafuoco last March.
Minister Undram expressed appreciation for the Biennale artistic project, to be developed together with Mongolian artists, inspired by the travels of Marco Polo (“E’ il vento che fa il cielo”).
Other collaborations in the fields of contemporary art, music and sport were also mentioned.
