On the occasion of the 79th anniversary of the Italian Republic and the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Italy and Mongolia, the Italian Embassy in Ulaanbaatar had the pleasure of welcoming more than 300 guests to the Mongolian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including institutional representatives, members of the diplomatic corps, personalities from the business, cultural and academic worlds of Mongolia, and Italian nationals living in the country.
Guests were able to attend the inauguration of the photographic exhibition curated by ANSA and Montsame on 55 years of diplomatic relations between Italy and Mongolia, and use 3D viewers to explore Marco Polo’s travels, an integral part of the exhibition ‘Marco Polo, Kublai Khan and the Mongols’, curated by the Chinggis Khaan Museum and Ca’ Foscari University, in collaboration with the Embassy in Ulaanbaatar and the Italian Cultural Institute in Beijing.
During the celebrations, the conductor of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Stefano Salvatori, and saxophonist Andreas Marinello performed alongside two Mongolian artists, sopranos Enkhnaran Ganbold and Enkhnaran Baasansuren.
Special thanks go to our guests, collaborators and sponsors who celebrated with us and supported the anniversary of the Italian Republic. Heartfelt thanks to the Mongolian Ministry of Foreign Affairs for its hospitality.
