Italian language week in Mongolia

The special event held at the Fine Arts Academy of Ulaanbaatar on the occasion of Italian Language Week in the World 2026 (SLIM2026) concluded with an extraordinary and enthusiastic participation of students of art, Italian language and culture, as well as graduates and students at our universities. Organized by the Embassy of Italy in Mongolia, the initiative represented a significant opportunity to celebrate the strong cultural and educational ties between Italy Mongolia through the official launch of the Alumni Network. This project aims to maintain lasting connections and promote the continuous exchange of experiences and knowledge among those who share the experience of having studied in Italy and a knowledge of the Italian language.

The invaluable importance of this people-to -people cultural bridge was highlighted by the participation of several distinguished personalities: artist Bekhbaatar Enkhtur, who, after studying in Italy, has established himself as a talented contemporary artist, drawing inspiration from Mongolian mythology and traditions; MP Undraa, a respective nuclear scientist who specialized at the Centre for Theoretical Physics in Trieste and currently serves as Chairwoman of the Mongolian-Italian interparliamentary friendship group; and Dr. Jadambaa, curator at the Chinggis Khaan National Museum, who studied in Bologna.

During the event, Saverio Teruzzi of Pistoletto Cittadellarte Foundation announced that the Foundation had made a scholarship available to a Mongolian student in connection with the installation of a land art work in Ulaanbaatar’s National Garden Park. Curated by Francesco Stocchi, the artwork was created by renowned artist Michelangelo Pistoletto in collaboration with Mongolian artist Battogtohk Turbat. This important project represents a symbol of friendship between Italy and Mongolia, united in their commitment to promoting peace, democratic values and multiculturalism.

The event was officially opened with institutional remarks by Giovanna Piccarreta, Ambassador of Italy to Mongolia; Bulgan Dansran, Ambassador of Mongolia to Italy; and Professor Enkhtaivan, Director of the Fine Arts Academy.
