Italian and U.S. Ambassadors to Join Mongolian National Olympic Committee for Webinar on the Olympic Games and Football
On October 9, Italian Ambassador to Mongolia H.E. Giovanna Piccarreta and U.S. Ambassador to Mongolia H.E. Richard Buangan will take part in a webinar titled “The Olympic Games and their role in promoting youth development, prosperity and peace – Football as a catalyser.” The Embassy of Italy is organizing the webinar for Italian Sports Day 2026, in collaboration with the U.S. Embassy in Mongolia and the Mongolian National Olympic Committee (MNOC).
The webinar will take place at MNOC Headquarters from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (Ulaanbaatar time) and will also stream on Webex. Journalists are invited to attend the webinar to cover the event.
Ambassador Piccarreta will open the event with welcome and institutional remarks, together with MNOC leadership. Ambassador Buangan will give the closing remarks, reflecting on sports diplomacy and the road to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Other speakers will include:
· Marco Ragini, Head Coach of the Mongolian National Football Team, on talent development, youth empowerment, and grassroots sports
· A featured Mongolian athlete, on their athletic journey and Olympic aspirations
· Alberto Zatta, Secretary General of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Mongolia, on sports culture, innovation, and business opportunities
The event links two Olympic hosts: Italy, which hosted the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games this year, and the United States, which will host the Los Angeles 2028 Summer Games.
